Calculations and A-Frame Gantry Sizing

Looking to purchase an A-Frame Gantry but aren’t sure where to start? With our bespoke gantry cranes that are manufactured securely on site, we can produce high-quality lifting equipment. Please read on to find out more about a-frame gantry sizing and calculations.

Building your own gantry crane

Some people try to build their own gantry crane, and while we’re all for a little DIY, unfortunately it’s not always a simple and straightforward process. If you’re building an A-Frame Gantry simply for home workshop use and you have no employees, then you should be covered by your insurance.

However, if you are running a business and have employees, you’ll find that there are many hoops and plenty of red tape to make your way through in getting your creation approved. For this reason, it’s easier if you leave the manufacturing of an A-Frame Gantry up to the experts!

Purchasing an A-Frame Gantry through Cranes Direct

The great thing about buying a crane from a registered supplier is that it makes life a lot easier and cheaper for you. We offer A-Frame Gantries that are bespoke and custom manufactured; made to fit your specifications and sizing requirements.

It’s important that you get all of your calculations right before starting any operation!

We can manufacture our A-Frame Gantries up to a height of five metres in total, with a height of four and a half metres under the horizontal beam of the crane. As these cranes aren’t fixed into one place, you can easily move them around should you wish. Please note, however, that they don’t come with wheels attached; if you are looking for a more portable option please refer to our mobile gantries.

Whether you plan to use your crane in one place, or you want to move it to multiple locations, it goes without saying that you must make sure that there is plenty of space around the lifting equipment for a task to be completed safely.

Before purchasing any equipment, be sure to measure the size of the loads you will be lifting, as well as the height of the space you want to operate in; we’ll use this information to create your bespoke equipment.
